I looked to see if this was posted anywhere , but i did not find it , so i thought id mention it.

At level 12, i am able to kill the guards by the starting area, which are level 50.

Range pull one close to the stairs on the right side , and if he comes alone.. then move out to the short wall across the street.
Fire again at him with ranged damage, and then jump over the wall.

He will then path towards the end of the wall to go around it.

Fire at him from range before he makes the turn around the wall.

Back away luring him along the wall and jump back over.

He will then path back to the end of the wall.

Rinse , repeat and ..... Dead level 50 guard.

They yield no xp , and if he does manage to hit you your dead .

I imagine this is something that may cause problems in the future, with other types of thugs , or what not that someone may be killing, if the pathing around these walls is the same as the one in front of the starting area.

Either they need to be able to go over these walls , or the walls need to block line of sight.

Myself id rather the guard surprised the crap out of me and hops over the wall and smashes my face in!

Thanks for the opportunity to help.

Back in EQ we called this "Kiting" (like flying a kite)

I'm sure AI improvements will eliminate the utility of this tactic, but for now THANKS! 'cause I'm using it too =P

Kiting reference i know , but using the terrain to gain an unfair advantage is an exploit.

and yes improved ai will definitely help.

Also as another note , it is way to easy to split mobs using movement. (ie attacking , running away and when they go back hit the farthest one back.)
I would think that once a mobs been engaged in combat his " awareness" should be increased in distance .

This i think would eliminate the ease of this tactic, one i use to split those level 50 guards up as well.

I agree with you there. It is a bit too easy to pull one or two mobs off a group. Small gangs should work together.

Pulling and herding was a common practice in City of Heroes. That's what you are describing here.
