Game stops responding at loading screen

I fire up the game and create a new character. Enter the game and everything is fine.

However, if I exit the game, and then try to login on a character already created, I can't get into the game. The loading screen appears, and the music plays for a couple seconds, then the music stops and the game stops responding.

It's very odd that it only happens when loading up an existing character.

Win 10 Pro 64-bit. Nvidia GTX 750 Ti. Using DirectX 11, but problem remains even if I use another setting.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, no change.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Nearly identical specs... I have noticed that any time I login I have to wait, and wait, and wait... and then suddenly it pops into the game. One time it took almost 6 minutes. Most times about 30 seconds.

It loads up, I login, choose a character, then it halts the music after a couple secs and just sits there. Sometimes it will even stop responding. Then after 30 seconds to a few minutes it loads right in to the world and everything is fine.

Obvious question I know, but have you just let it sit there for a while after choosing your character and clicking to enter the game? Aside from that, most likely it is a strange issue that will be cleared up with the next patch. They've stated there were some bugs with the last update. Any other thoughts anyone? Beuler? :)

I'm currently planning a rewrite of our loading system as Unity3D isn't the best at handling large scene loading without unique code specification. I've noticed lately that this has been happening quite a bit. I'm looking at having a solution available a few patches from now. I'm going to reduce the server entity load with the upcoming patch; that will alleviate the issue until we can push forward with the new loading tech. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but are working hard to optimize the product with each update.

You're right. Took almost 3 minutes but I got in.

You'd think at my age that I would know enough to have a little patience.

No inconvience, Ironsight.

I'm well aware what "alpha" software means. :)

Same. I play with the game windowed and I noticed most of the wait is because it gets stuck on "(Not responding)" and if I click anywhere it'll go white and try to shut itself down. If I just leave it alone though, after about 1-5 minutes I'm in.
Viewtiful!
