Is it likely to stay one travel power only? Myself and a lot of people I know believe that to really nail the superhero feel the game should allow for at least two, or allow players to forgo extra attack or buff powers in order to take extra travel powers.

Perhaps the first travel could be granted on character creation with an opportunity for another when reaching the cap?

There's nothing wrong with attaining a travel power at a certain level rather than upon creation. Super Speed + Super jump is fun....

I am cool with only one travel power. They are just convenience/utility for me. But I see where the "feels more super-y" crowd is coming from, so I would probably vote for at least the option of having more than one.
