I'm suggesting if you haven't already to add grapple to the game as a standardized move for all heroes.
the idea that a hero can grab a villain subduing them for 8 to 10 seconds by pressing a hotkey like X or CTRL and while held you can toss them by
using the direction keys/button pressing up/forward would toss them backward, left to the left side, right to the right side, and pressing down/back
would knock them down at your feet. some heroes with ranged abilities like a web sling, telekinetic, magic, rocket fist, stretchy arms or lasso
can use ranged grapple up to 25 yards in front of them and pressing down/back would instead pull the enemy to them making them land at the
hero's feet (Scorpion's Get over here move). It would be a stat based hold based on strength and agility/magic.... agility/magic to land the grapple
and strength to max how long it's held. Ranged grapple would need more agility/magic than melee grapple, but much less strength to duration
since their ranged ability is special powers.
of course named villains would be immune to the toss but the grapple would still interrupt any healing or channelled abilities. Level would also affect
the time of the hold as higher level underlings would break out of the hold in half the time and very high levels would resist it completely or be able to
throw you instead.
the second part of this would be that you can use the environment with grapple. if the grappled target gets tossed into breakable objects the objects will break
they will take damage based on the number of objects destroyed. being tossed into fire or acid would cause them to lose health at a steady rate until they
escaped the danger area. if fighting on a tall building roof, the top of a moving train, a bridge, or any high place and they get tossed off they will instantly be defeated
and their loot will drop near the edge where they went over or the last spot they stood before grappled.
In PvP grapple would act much like a boss grapple on another player as you could not toss them but it will interrupt and put powers on a cooldown if so done.
To prevent exploit the grapple effect would have a 10 second cooldown between use and build a natural resistance if used on the same target more than once
so that after 3 to 5 uses the target becomes immune to the effect for 30 seconds at which point the immunity level would reset. Also the grapple can't be used
while you have a travel power active or another players grapple is already active on the target.
I use to play with this type of system in some old playstation 1 games and I always had fun tossing enemies off high places to win the fight with them before
they could come attack me. It's a way to add another level of fun to the game and if you do Achievements you can even add the defeat enemies by using grapple
an x number of times, interrupt abilities using grapple x number of times, and destroy x number of objects using grapple.
