So I downloaded the pre alpha client and have been giving Valiance a go these last few days.

First off, thanks very much for making it available for testing. I am enjoying it very much and it definitely has those superhero 'feelz'

Observations:

Pros:

The city looks great. Love the holographic crosswalks. It really has that Steel Canyon look.
Avatar's look very nice. Cant wait for When customization is back working . Right now I kind of look like Capn Brazil. :)
Powersets look really good and I can see where the animations for them, when they are timed right, will make for exciting fights.
Questgivers were pretty straight forward but spread out and hard to find.
Fights were good. Took a bit to realize a level 5 minion isn't as tough as a level 5 leut or a boss even.
Overall, it has that kernel of a good supers game.

Cons or bugs:

For testing purposes, city is too spread out and mobs are as well. There are a few areas where you can go to bash thugs but if you dont head in the right direction you find yourself around no mobs or mobs that are way higher than you.

While city looks really good, it feels sparse. Not sure if it isnt finished or by design.

My pants texture kept disappearing. I would get a large blob of red text in window about being unable to load textures.

Level up animation. This kills the framerates.

Animations were off a bit. I could see a gunner swing his pistol in an arc but nothing comes out for a second or two. Then it does.
Also, projectile animations were slow so they all do the weird heatsinking follow the player arc. Not sure if by design.

Had a character who could not move his powers from his Shift power tray to regular power tray, no matter what I tried.

First mission is a bit overwhelming. Maybe make first one to go kill ten perps. Just to get ones feet wet.

Cant think of anything more atm.

Still though, it looks awesome! Keep up good work!

So it's been about a week since I have been logging on to check on things.

I see water got implemented, it looks really good!

There is however a man-made reflecting pool or something around where you fight those guys with the red shirts. If you fall into it, you can't get out. Either the water level is too low or the ability to jump out of water isn't high enough and there are no stairs or ramps out as I could find.

Would it be possible to double run speed for the time being? It is dreadfully slow to go anywhere at the moment.
