I'm always nice to them and always look out for them. If they could speak for themselves they would totally say things like:

"Why do I have to wear that skimpy thing again!?"
"Turn away you perv & stop looping that emote!"
"I hate you, you creep!"

I'm not entirely sure which game but I think it was Scarlet Blade which made it sound like the character was just thrown into a blender; complete with machine sounds, abruptly ending scream and all . Was a really nasty surprise. I stared at the screen for about half a minute before uttering a high pitched "WTF?!".

Ever play Monster Hunter 4 or X and release a palico (cat companion)? That will break your heart. The little guy cries and everything.
