Really Big Mode

One of the things I liked about City of Heroes's character creation was the ability to make myself 8 feet tall. I think it'd be hella sweet if you could turn that up even more. Maybe if your character has a temporary super form, you could bump up your character's height to 10 or even 15 feet tall.

It'd be hella sweet to have a scrappy character who can turn into an enormous hulking behemoth every now and then.

From what I remember of such a discussion on the CoT boards the two biggest problem were how to handle it wen the character became higher than the ceiling high on interior maps, and the handling of the hit box (especially if we can't pass though each other and/or NPC's and enemies).

In that case, maybe Giant Mode can be its own power with its own stats, that you can optionally apply an alternate costume to.

Not sure if you can have a auto bend down mode for when big players enter smaller areas. Or, they could just make sure all the areas accommodate big folks

In my opinion, it is realistic to have 15ft. However they would have to accommodate every area for it, with size in mind. VO would just be a place with very high ceilings lol. The issue I have heard in FFXIV regarding the small avatars was, bigger ones would have been a pain during combat. That was not the case in FFXI; titan was pretty big, people just fought around him. In CO, folks can also get very big for a short time in combat, just fight around them. No biggie.

Ark is pretty much big dinos clogging up the screen during battle although you are mostly at a distance.

Yeah, seems like this feature would require a lot of concessions in terms of map-design, animations, and model-art. I suppose you could alleviate some of that if the character simply shrunk when entering smaller spaces? Though it seems like that might diminish some of the magic of having a massive character.

I think there is a really simple solution:

You don´t need to make over every single building and you don´t need to make a intermediate form for rooms and dungeons.

Just make the big guys a second posture for rooms and dungeons with "normal" hight where they walk stooped.

in CO you have enrage that can be slotted to be like rage from CoV brutes and make you grow a little then they have a out of combat only super magnifier and super shrinker item that turns off in combat. they get around hit boxes and not fitting in places also by having it when you grow your collision box stays your original size

This thread was done some time ago, I still think it would be best to make the environment pretty vast, to avoid clipping and body cutoffs like in CO.

Cause I would like to be really big.
